Look at me not though yesterday’s lens. Yes, it was very true yesterday, I was weak and unable. I was to you a useless, worthless tramp. You caught me in my state of nothingness. It is a new day today and I am changing because God is changing me.
Don’t look at me through yesterday’s lens. Yes it is true you saw me tattered and battered. It seemed I had no direction or even a sense of purpose. You are right – that was my story. But my story won’t always remain stories, they move to glory. Yesterday is gone and today I am new. God has turned my story to glory.
Don’t look at me through yesterday’s lens…
Yes, truly I did not look like I had potential. God is turning my potential into potency. My abilities were latent then, now they are made manifest and apparent. I am ‘work in progress’. He is not finished with me yet. In another few years, come back, check and you will see just how much I am changed from glory to glory.
Don’t look at me through yesterday’s lens because if you do, you get blinded to the change that is going on constantly in me. You naturally assume I am the ‘me’ you saw in that bad or down trodden or sinful state. That is not me. That was just a passing moment in my life that you were privy to. I know that my heart state and my sincerity with God and also my commitment to His will for my life will keep pushing me beyond my present position into what He has made me to be and truly live my purpose.
Don’t look at me through yesterday’s lens…
Condemnation will not change me- it will sink me deeper. I realise that I cannot wish my way out of my circumstances because if I do, nothing will really happen. Instead, I will sincerely ask for the help of my Maker, God Almighty, the One who can truly help me and move me from story to glory. I will be diligent and I will not deceive myself or deceive you or deceive Him. I will be true.
Don’t look at me through yesterday’s lens. I decide to be true in my heart even though it might not appear so right now. But the more I stay true, the closer I get to it being obvious that I am not living a lie. My current state may not in any way mirror my tomorrow. My past is past and gone while the days ahead are truly ahead, and I daily walk towards them having such a hope that my latter days are going to be greater than my former days.
